Set of six detachable stereoscopic cards folded concertina-like and neatly shrink wrapped around a Steampunk Owl viewer.
The photos were taken in Bristol in 2015 by Denis Pellerin, just before Dr. Brian May was filmed and interviewed for a BBC documentary about poet Thomas Chatterton (1752-1770) directed by Matthew Thomas and presented by poet Michael Symmons Roberts. This twenty-nine minute piece was aired later that year under the title "Thomas Chatterton: Myth of the Doomed Poet".
The film crew had carefully reconstructed the London garret where Chatterton was found dead on August 25th 1770 as it appears in Henry Wallis’s 1856 iconic painting, now at Tate Britain. They also provided Dr. May with a faithful copy of the clothes worn by Chatterton in Wallis’s composition. This was an opportunity not to be missed and some of the resulting stereoscopic photos, carefully edited by Dr. Brian May, are now yours to possess and enjoy in glorious 3-D.
